Washington Mutual Loses an Opportunity

Friday I walked into Washington Mutual at 5:45 pm. I approached a gentleman at a desk and asked him if I could open account.

He replied “It’s a little late to open an account; we’ll be closing in 15 minutes. Can you comeback tomorrow, we are open between 9 and 1 or we are open on Monday”

But I am here now; I would have come tomorrow or on Monday if I wanted to open my account then.

How much is a new customer worth? Is going home 10 minutes sooner worth losing a customer?
